Keep your water running March 25, 2020
The Makkovik Inuit Community Government strongly urges residents to keep the water running in their homes to avoid freeze ups.

Even during the warmer days, the temperatures can drop rapidly in the evenings and freeze ups can occur when you least expect. The severity of each freeze up is different but proactive steps (leaving water running) will give you and the town an extra peace of mind.

Effective immediately, there will be a $120.00 service fee for anyone requesting assistance to thaw out waterlines. Senior Residents, over the age of 65, will not be charged a fee.(Please note the Services Fee was first implemented November 2019)
