At a regular meeting on May 01, 2013, the Makkovik Inuit Community Government unanimously approved a by-law known as the "Makkovik Inuit Community Government Vendor Regulations" pertaining to the operation of mobile takeouts within Makkovik.

A public notice was posted two weeks prior to this meeting for public input, and no comments were received.

The " Makkovik Inuit Community Vendor Regulations" will now be registered as a new by-law under the Nunatsiavut Registry as per Section 17.41.1(k) and 17.41.3(i) of the Land Inuit Land Claims Agreement(LILCA).
